Our Social Groups
Ages 8 - 12
-
Social groups for 8 to 12-year-olds provide a safe and inclusive space for children to develop essential social, emotional, and practical skills.
The groups are developed and run by Developmental Educators, Therapy Assistants and Mentors at The Hive at Holden Hill, with the program being tailored to the individual participants that attend.
The groups are semi-structured to ensure there is a safe and nurturing environment for everyone involved to develop the confidence to try new things. Each week there will be different activities that are co-designed by the participants.
This group aims to develop and focus on the following areas:
Social Skills
Friendship + Relationship Building
Confidence and Self-Esteem Building
Communication Skills
Emotional Regualtion
Community Inclusion and Participation
Supporting Developmental Milestones
Creating a Fun and Exciting Safe Space for Young People

Ages 13 - 16

Our social groups (13-16) at Grow and Flourish are developed and run by our Developmental Educators, Therapy Assistants and Mentors at The Hive at Holden Hill.
Our social groups occur in an engaging environment where young people can develop important life skills, build relationships, and enhance their overall well-being.
The purposes of such groups include:
Building Social Skills
Fostering Friendships and Relationships
Encouraging Independence
Improving Emotional Wellbeing
Enhancing Community Participation
Developing Practical Skills
Parental and Family Support

Ages 17+

Adult social groups are developed and run by Developmental Educators, Therapy Assistants and Mentors at The Hive, Holden Hill.
Social groups for adults serve as an essential platform for fostering personal growth, social connection, and community participation. These groups provide meaningful opportunities for individuals to enhance their skills, build relationships, and improve their quality of life.
The groups are semi-structured to ensure there are opportunities for growth and capacity building in areas that are identified for the participants. Each week there is a different topic covered which may include online safety, life skills, moving out of home, and more.
This group aims to develop and focus on the following areas:

Exploring Interests and Hobbies

Queerly-Abled

Queerly-Abled is a social group for people who are neurodiverse, have a disability and are members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Queerly-Abled focuses on fostering a safe space for neurodiverse people who are members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Each week the group focuses on a new activity and engage in participant-lead fun!

Queerly-Abled will be meeting throughout April 28th - July 4th, every Tuesday night.
